Amphipolar spiral coprolites have coils that are fairly evenly spaced along more than 75% of their length. These are generally attributed to sharks, may have been produced by a number of fish with a spiral valve. These included, but are not limited to rays, skates, lungfish, and gars. Modern lungfish produce spiral fecal pellets of this type.
