Oxford Clay

The Oxford Clay Formation is comprised of marine sediments dating to middle Callovian to lower Oxfordian stage of the Jurassic Period.  Fossils are primarily found in the Peterborough Member which is commonly referred to as lower Oxford Clay and date approximately 160 to 166 million years ago.
