This spiral coprolite has a soft, chalky composition and a scroll type structure. Currently, only a few species of fish are known to have a spiral valve. These include some sharks, rays, skates and lungfish. This particular coprolite doesn't have any visible bone inclusions. However, what appear to be fragments of oyster shells are present. This coprolite is one of the numerous specimens collected by Ron Ritchie in 1999 while surveying an area cleared to build an elementary school.
